Three-day, six-team event runs Friday-Sunday
NEW YORK — Columbia will compete in the 2025 Ivy League Women's Golf Championship this Friday-Sunday at Royal Palm Golf Club in Naples, Florida. The 54-hole stroke play event will see the league's six teams vie for the Ivy League crown.
Columbia's starting lineup will include a trio of first-years in Christine Chang, Sarah Shao and Emily Luo, sophomore Lauren Lee, as well as juniors Yoko Tai and Emma Shen. Official pairings and first-round tee times will be released by the Ivy League following the introductory banquet on Thursday evening.
New this season, the top five individual finishes and ties from the event will be named to the All-Championship Team. All-Ivy League Teams, along with the major awards, will now be decided by a coaches' vote in the week following the championship.
Chang has led Columbia this season with a team-best 75.00 stroke average. She owns two top-10 finishes and four top 25s, including a stretch of three top 25s over her last four tournaments heading into the championship. In the fall, she was ninth at the Princeton Invitational before following it up with a T8 at the Columbia Classic to begin the spring. Her 2-over-par 218 (72-76-70) from the Columbia Classic ranks among the top-10 54-hole scores in program history.
Closely behind Chang's stroke average are Shao (75.63) and Luo (76.84). Shao has finished top 15 in each of her last three events, including solo third last weekend at the Navy Spring Invitational with a 1-over-par 145 (71-74). The performance included her lowest collegiate round of 1-under 71 and was a 36-hole collegiate low. Luo has earned top 25s in each of her last two events, including a tie for 15th at the 70-player More Than Golf Invitational, where she shot a 54-hole collegiate-low 8-over-par 227 (74-74-79).
Tai and Shen bring experience from previous Ivy League Championships. This will be Tai's third championship event. Last year, she shot a final-round 1-under-par 71 at The Stanwich Club to finish tied for seventh. Shen competed in her first championship last season and tied for 14th.
The winning team will earn an automatic bid to represent the Ivy League at the 2025 NCAA Women's Golf Regionals. The 2025 NCAA Women's Golf Selection Show is scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, at 11 a.m. ET, and will air live on the Golf Channel.
The first round of the 2025 Ivy League Women's Golf Championship tees off at 9 a.m. on Friday. Each subsequent round is also currently scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Fans can find pairings and follow live scoring throughout the weekend on the College Golf Scoreboard, powered by Clippd.
