The Lions jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after securing the doubles point, but the 49ers rallied back, winning three consecutive singles matches to take a 3-1 lead. Malak El Allami made it 4-2 with an upset win over No. 72 Ni Xi, winning 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
