Lions look to remain perfect at home in 2026
NEW YORK – The 46th-ranked Columbia women's tennis team wraps up its two-match homestand on Wednesday when the Lions host FDU for a nonconference contest at the Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center. Wednesday's match is scheduled for a 1 p.m. first serve.

LAST TIME OUT
Columbia swept Big Ten foe Michigan State at the Milstein Family Tennis Center. The Lions took the doubles thanks to strong play from the new duo, Michelle Li and Amber Yin, on court 2. In singles play, the Lions made quick work of the Spartans with straight-sets wins from Yin, Emily Baek and Gayathri Krishnan.
IN THE RANKINGS
In the latest ITA team rankings, all eight Ivy League squads are ranked in the top-75, with Columbia being one of five teams ranked in the top-50. The Lions check in at No. 46 just behind Penn at No. 45. In singles play, Malak El Allami is ranked No. 121 - one of two Ivy League players in the top-125.
DOUBLES POINT
Doubles play has been good to the Lions in 2026. Columbia has won the doubles point in all seven duals this season, which is a big reason for Columbia's 5-2 record. Columbia's top duo of Krishnan and Lin are 12-2 in 2025-26and 5-0 in the spring. They were also leading in the two matches that were abandoned. The Lions' third doubles pair of Baek and Wang is 7-1 as a pair this year and 5-0 in 2026. El Allami and Yin were 10-2 playing together. Yin and Michelle Li are 2-0 as playing partners.
OWNING COURT ONE
Gayathri Krishnan has taken control of court one for the Lions. The junior improved to 18-5 in 2025-26 and has run her unbeaten streak to seven matches, dispatching Michigan State's top singles player, Amara Brahmbhatt, 6-2, 6-3 last week. The reigning Ivy League Player of the Year boasts a career record of 67-22 and is on pace to eclipse her win total from 2024-25, in which she went 25-10, including a 16-3 mark in the spring.

FDU enters Wednesday's dual match with a 3-3 overall record, but has won two straight after posting a pair of 4-3 wins over SFU and NJIT. On the road, the Knights are 2-3 this spring. Senior Anatastasia Lim is FDU's top singles player, boasting a record of 9-7 overall and 3-2 in the No. 1 spot.
SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday will be just the third meeting between the local rivals, but the first since 2011, with Columbia owning a 2-0 advantage in the series. The two sides first met in 2010 with the Lions winning 6-1. Last time out, Columbia defeated the Knights 7-0 on January 29, 2011.
