Lions double dip against Marshall and Wagner on Friday; host NJIT Sunday
NEW YORK – The 54th-ranked Columbia women's tennis team has a busy weekend ahead of itself, hosting three matches in three days. The weekend begins with a Friday morning doubleheader against Marshall and Wagner. The weekend concludes on Sunday with NJIT at the Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center.

LAST TIME OUT
On February 28, the Lions lost to Memphis, 4-3, on the road. Columbia took control of the match early, winning the doubles point, but the Tigers quickly turned the tide, winning the top two singles matches in straight sets. At the bottom of the lineup, the Lions got strong performances from Margaret Hui and Amber Yin. Hui rallied back to win her match after losing in the opening set, while Yin dominated her opponent, winning 6-4, 6-2.
IN THE RANKINGS
In the latest ITA team rankings, seven of the eight Ivy League teams are ranked in the top-75, with four ranked within five spots of each other. The Lions check in at No. 54, which is fourth among the Ivy League teams. Yale is No. 27, followed by Princeton at No. 37, Dartmouth at No. 52. Brown is No. 56, followed by Penn at No. 57 and Harvard at No. 75.
DOUBLES POINT
Doubles play has been good to the Lions in 2026. Columbia has won the doubles point in all eight duals this season, which is a big reason for Columbia's 6-3 record. Columbia's top duo of Krishnan and Lin are 13-2 in 2025-26 and 5-0 in the spring. They were also leading in the two matches that were abandoned. The Lions' third doubles pair of Baek and Wang is 8-1 as a pair this year and has gone unbeaten in the spring. El Allami and Yin were 10-2 playing together. Yin and Michelle Li are 3-0 as playing partners.
THE CUBS
Columbia's trio of first-years has already made a big impact for the Lions. Margaret Hui, Michelle Li and Sabrina Lin are a combined 23-6 in singles play in 2025-26. The trio is 8-2 in the spring. Hui is 12-1 overall in singles play and 5-0 in the spring.
ABOUT MARSHALL
The Thundering Herd enters Friday's dual with a 6-6 overall record, and on the road, they are 2-4 this spring. Last time out, Marshall defeated ECU 6-1 on the road, ending a two-match skid. Senior Johanna Strom is 4-1 playing primarily at the top singles spot and has won four-straight. In doubles play, the duo of Paula Berzina and Sarah Copley is 3-0, playing primarily in the No. 2 spot.
SERIES HISTORY
Friday will be the second-ever meeting between the Lions and Thundering Herd. The first ever meeting took place on February 26, 2017, with Columbia defeating then-No. 37 Marshall 4-2 in Huntington, W.Va.
