Lions play final home contest on Friday, travel to Princeton Sunday
NEW YORK – The 61st-ranked Columbia women's tennis team wraps up its home slate on Friday when the Lions host Penn. On Sunday, the Lions begin the first of three road contests when they travel to Princeton, N.J. Friday's match against the Quakers is scheduled for a 2 p.m. first serve, and Sunday's match against the Tigers will start at 1 p.m.

SENIOR SENDOFF
Friday's match against Yale will be Senior Day for the Lions. Columbia will pay tribute to its lone senior, Sophia Wang, in a special pre-match ceremony.
LAST TIME OUT
The Lions improved to 10-0 at home with a thrilling comeback, 4-3, win over Yale. For just the second time all season, the Lions failed to secure the doubles point but rallied back from a 2-0 deficit to clinch the match. Sophia Wang secured the fourth and final point with a 5-7, 6-2, 7-5 win over the Bulldogs Julia Werdiger. It was Columbia's second 4-3 win of the weekend; they also rallied back from a 2-0 deficit, this time against Brown.

In the latest ITA team rankings, the Lions are one of four Ivy League teams ranked in the top-75. Columbia checks in at No. 61, just behind Princeton (No. 48), Yale (No. 58), and ahead of Dartmouth (No. 68).

The Lions are 10-0 at the Philip & Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center this season. A win on Friday would secure the program's second undefeated season at their new home facility, and the fourth since the 2006-07 season. Columbia has also gone undefeated in 2023-24 (10-0), 2019-20 (9-0), 2014-15 (6-0), and 2012-13 (7-0).
MILESTONE WATCH
With a pair of dual wins this weekend, junior Gayathri Krishnan will have won her 75th match. The junior is 73-23 in her career and 43-7 in dual matches. This season, Krishnan is 24-6 overall in dual matches she is 12-1. In her sophomore campaign, which saw her named the Ivy League Player of the Year, she went 25-10 overall and 16-3 in dual matches.

The Quakers enter this weekend with a 10-9 overall record, and in the Ivy League, they are 1-2. Last weekend, Penn split a pair of home contests, falling to Dartmouth 4-1 on Saturday before rebounding to beat Harvard 4-1 on Sunday. Lara Stojanovski leads the team with 14 wins overall. At No. 1, Esha Velega is 5-4 and 13-8 overall.
