Lions open the season at the Bucknell Fall Invitational
NEW YORK — The 2026-27 Columbia women's golf season begins on Friday at the Bucknell Fall Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole event is being hosted by the Bison at Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
Fourteen different programs will compete in this year's season opener, including Columbia, host Bucknell, UAlbany, Duquesne, Fairleigh Dickinson, La Salle, Le Moyne, Manhattan, Mercyhurst, Mount Saint Mary, New Haven, Saint Joseph's, Wagner, and West Chester.
Tee times and lineups will be posted when available.
The Lions are expected to have all 11 members compete at the season-opening event, split into two teams of five and one additional individual. The members of this year's women's golf team are: seniors Lauren Lee, juniors Christine Chang, Sarah Shao and Emily Luo, sophomores Bridget Chantharath, Camille Thai, Kristina Xu and Emily Zeng, as well as first-years Mariah Brownhill, Juliana Hong and Coco Wang.
The Lions enter the 2026-27 campaign on the heels of a historic year. Columbia captured the 2026 Ivy League Women's Golf Championship – the program's first conference title since 2007. It was one of two tournament titles the Lions won last year, also taking home the More Than Golf Invitational at Old Barnwell (Mar. 1-3). The More Than Golf Invitational title was Columbia's first team win in nearly a decade. The Lions earned the Ivy League's auto-bid to NCAA Regionals, placing 10th, led by a pair of top-30 individual finishes from Zeng and Xu.
Last year's championship campaign also included a unanimous First Team All-Ivy League selection for Xu and Second Team All-Ivy recognition for Shao and Zeng. Amy Weeks and Katie Rudolph were honored as the Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year. Xu shattered the program record for single-season stroke average with a stellar 73.50 mark.
Additionally, Xu and Shao represented Columbia on the national stage over the summer by qualifying for and competing in the 2026 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship.
Columbia returns key contributors alongside a fresh group of newcomers eager to make their mark. The entire lineup from last year's Ivy League Championship and NCAA Regional has returned. The three newcomers will also look to make a splash in Columbia's championship lineup.
