NEW YORK, N.Y. - Columbia women's archery will welcome three first-years for the 2005-06 season. The class features two recurve shooters and the Lion's first-ever recruited compound bow shooter.

Emma Gillespie joins the team from Jamaica Plain, Mass. With her passion for archery, she will make an impact on the recurve team after graduating from the Winsor School in Boston this spring.

Sara Mancini is a former member of the Junior World Archery Team and is currently ranked 2nd nationally in the Junior Girls division. A recurve shooter, Mancini will graduate from the Shipley School in Media, Pa.

Amanda McDermott will be Columbia's first recruit shooting the compound bow and will make a strong addition to the Lions' first-ever compound team. McDermott attends Gorham High School in Gorham, Maine and after switching recently to compound shooting, she has already reached the master grade.
