Crysti Foote

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Former Notre Dame standout, Crysti Foote, joined Columbia's coaching staff in August 2008.

After graduating from Notre Dame in 2006 with a business degree, Foote served as an Associate Director of the Metro Lacrosse Club in Millburn, N.J. Prior to her arrival in Morningside Heights, Foote began her coaching career as an assistant coach at Drew University for the 2007-08 season, helping the Rangers to a 10-8 record.

“I’m really excited that Crysti will be joining our staff,” noted Whitaker. “Our players will have the opportunity to learn from her ? not only through her coaching but on the field when she mixes in and plays with our team. I am confident that she will be an excellent role model for our student-athletes.”

Foote graduated as one of Notre Dame’s most decorated lacrosse players. A two-time All-American, Foote was named the NCAA Female Attack Player of the Year as a senior after leading her team with 114 points (74 goals, 40 assists). That same year, she was a finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy, presented annually to the top female lacrosse player in the country.

Serving as team captain in her senior year, the 2006 Big East Attack Player of the Year led the Fighting Irish to the NCAA Final Four, just one year after finishing 3-12.

“Her distinctions and achievements as a player obviously are quite impressive. What stands out to me is the leadership and determination she exhibited in leading a total turnaround at Notre Dame, where her team went 3-12 in her junior year, to Crysti taking over and leading her team to the NCAA Final Four the very next season,” Whitaker explained.

On top of her success as a collegiate player, Foote brings international playing experience to Columbia, having been a member of the Canadian National Team since 2005.

In addition to her extraordinary athletic accomplishments, Foote excelled off the field, twice receiving Big East All-Academic recognition, and was actively involved in community service in the South Bend area.
