Liliana “Lily” Rodriguez serves as the Associate Athletics Director for Success Through Well Being. She joined the Department in 2019, having previously held the roles of Assistant Director and Director of Enrichment Services. In her current role, she manages the areas of Enrichment Services and Championship Performance, with a specific focus on overseeing academic support for student-athletes.
Prior to arriving in Morningside Heights, Rodriguez spent five years as the Director of Championships and SAAC Coordinator at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). In that capacity, Rodriguez directed the planning and budgeting of championships, awards banquets, and events hosted at campus sites, Walt Disney World, and ESPN’s Wide World of Sports. She also coordinated key operations for NCAA basketball tournaments including game presentation, community outreach programming, and hotel agreements. In addition, she advised the conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and oversaw the planning of meetings, initiatives, and community service efforts. During her tenure at the MAAC, Rodriguez was a member of the NCAA Division I Rowing Committee, to which was appointed after serving as the Co-Regatta Director of the 2017 NCAA Division I, II and III Women’s Rowing Championships.
Rodriguez began her career in athletics administration in communications, gaining early experience at Saint Peter’s University and Rutgers University.
A Linden, New Jersey, native, Rodriguez graduated summa cum laude from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, with a B.S. in business management. While at St. Francis, she was a volleyball student-athlete and team captain, and was named the 2011 SFC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Rodriguez earned a Master of Arts in Sociology and Education in the Department of Education Policy and Social Analysis at Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Master of Business Administration at Saint Peter’s University. A 2023 graduate of the NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute, Rodriguez also participated in the NCAA Effective Facilitation Workshop in 2024. She was a founding member of LA CAASA (Latinx Association for Collegiate Athletics Administrators and Student-Athletes).
Outside of Columbia, Rodriguez coaches youth volleyball for NYC Juniors Volleyball Club.
