Liliana “Lily” Rodriguez is in her fourth year with Columbia Athletics as the Associate Athletics
Director for Success Through Well Being. Rodriguez joined the Department in August of 2019,
having previously served as both the Assistant Director and Director of Enrichment Services.
In her current role, she is responsible for the management of the areas of Enrichment Services and
Championship Performance, with a specific focus on overseeing academic support services for
student-athletes.
Prior to arriving in Morningside Heights, Rodriguez spent five years as the Director of
Championships and SAAC Coordinator at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). In that
capacity, Rodriguez handled the planning, oversight, and budget management of MAAC
championships and awards banquets, coordinated MAAC events hosted at Walt Disney World and
Disney’s Wide World of Sports, and managed various aspects of the MAAC-sponsored NCAA
basketball tournaments including game presentation, community outreach programming, and hotel
agreements. In addition, she oversaw the conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC),
including meeting plans, initiatives, and community service efforts. She was also a member of the
NCAA Division I Rowing Committee, which she was appointed to after serving as the Co-Regatta
Director of the 2017 NCAA Division I, II and III Women’s Rowing Championships.
Rodriguez began her career in athletics administration in communications, and previously worked
at Saint Peter’s University and Rutgers University.
A Linden, N.J. native, Rodriguez graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Francis College in Brooklyn,
N.Y. with a B.S. in business management. While at St. Francis, she was a student-athlete and team
captain on the volleyball team, and was named the 2011 SFC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Rodriguez went on to earn a Master of Business Administration at Saint Peter’s University.
Rodriguez is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Sociology and Education in the Department of
Education Policy and Social Analysis at Teachers College, Columbia University. She is a 2023
graduate of the NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute, and a founding member of LA
CAASA (Latinx Association for Collegiate Athletics Administrators and Student-Athletes).
Rodriguez also serves as a youth volleyball coach for NYC Juniors Volleyball Club.
