
Women's Soccer Brings in Six First-Years to Class of 2010

Christina Eckhardt (Durham, N.C./Riverside) is an extremely quick player who can excel as an attacker or a defender. A very attack-minded player, Eckhardt's club team captured the Region III championship and finished third nationally.
Meggie Ford (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg) comes to Columbia as an authoritative defender with pace. A quality leader with an excellent array of passing skills, she was a third-team All-State selction and a two-time All-County honoree. Ford is the younger sister of Drew Ford '08, of the men's soccer team.
Erin Jones (Newton Centre, Mass./Newton North) is a highly skilled and creative midfielder. Relentless in her drive to gain possession, Jones is a versatile and athletic player with a range of skills.
Ashley Mistele (Ross, Calif./San Francisco Univ. HS) is a talented central midfielder who can dictate a game with her precision passing and ability to shoot from distance. An All-League selection in all four years of high school, Mistele was a two-time MVP of the highly competitive Bay Counties league.
Alana Presslaff (River Edge, N.J./River Dell Regional) comes from one of the top programs in the country, the World Class Soccer Club that was a semifinalist at the 2004 national tournament and captured the Regional championship in 2004 and 2005. An excellent one-on-one defender, Presslaff was a two-time All-State Group II midfielder.
Sophie Reiser (Seattle, Wash./Nathan Hale), a forward, is a highly intelligent player with excellent vision. A first team All-State selection in 2005, Reiser is equally adept at creating an attack and finishing one. The Olympic Development Program veteran will join former Washington ODP teammates Jessica Schott and Allison Leonard at Columbia.
