Fernando Perez '04CC Writes for New York Times While Rehabbing Injury

After a promising first callup with the Tampa Bay Rays last September, former Columbia outfielder Fernando Perez '04CC was supposed to contend for a spot on Tampa Bay's 25-man roster but a preseason injury has sidelined Perez for a while.
In the meantime, Perez has agreed to occasionally write for the New York Times' Bats Blog. Here is the first installment.
