Mike Magpayo Joins the Men's Basketball Staff as Director of Operations

Mike Magpayo has joined the Columbia men's basketball staff as the program's director of operations under first-year head coach Kyle Smith.
In this multi-faceted position, Magpayo will handle travel arrangements, alumni relations, budget management and serve a key point person for any of the men's basketball program's special events.
For the last 10 years, Magpayo has coached high school basketball in the southern California area and was most recently the head junior varsity basketball coach at Aliso Niguel High School. He also had experience as an assistant varsity basketball coach at Aliso Niguel, Newport Harbor High School and Redondo Union High School.
While coaching high school basketball, Magpayo worked in the real estate business as the chief executive officer of MSM Financial, Inc. in Costa Mesa, California.
A California native, Magpayo graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2001 with a degree in business economics. He was actively involved with the university's intramurals program and volunteered in the Santa Barbara area as a basketball coach and mentor.
