Final Results: Men | Women
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - On Sunday, Feb.24 the Columbia men and women's track & field team capped the 2013 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships in Cambridge, Mass. With 85 total points, the Lions placed third on the women's side behind a number of standout performances. Marvellous Iheukwumere had a fantastic day picking up two Ivy League titles in the 60m and 200m runs. QueenDenise Okeke also claimed a title in the triple jump in the meet. The Columbia men put together some solid performances in the distance events on their way to a fourth place finish at 50 total points.

Triple Jump Final
QueenDenise Okeke - Ivy League Champion
Nadia Eke - Second place
For the second time in her career, Okeke captured the Ivy League triple jump title on Sunday. With a career-best leap 12.87m, Okeke took first place ahead of teammate and 2012 indoor triple jump champion Eke. Eke finished runner-up in the event with a season best leap of 12.84m.
1 Mile Run Final
Erin Gillingham - Second Place
After posting the top time of 4:45.53 in the preliminaries on Saturday, Gillingham was in good position for Sunday's final heat. She ran a personal best time of 4:40.72 to earn a runner-up finish in the one mile final.
60m Hurdles Final
Iris Chijioke - Fourth Place
In only her first indoor Ivy League Heps meet, Chijioke ran a season best 8.67 for fourth in 60 meter hurdles.
60m Dash Final
Marvellous Iheukwumere - Ivy League Champion
At last year's Heps Championships, Iheukwumere and Princeton's Eileen Moran both clocked in at 7.62, but the Iheukwumere earned the second-place nod as her time was calculated at 7.616 to Moran's 7.620. The junior left nothing to chance this season as she clocked in at 7.51 seconds to earn the indoor Ivy League crown in the 60m run.
200m Dash Final
Marvellous Iheukwumere - Ivy League Champion
After winning the 60m dash, Iheukwumere returned to defend her Ivy League crown in the 200m dash. The junior continued her stellar year with a first place time of 24.46 seconds.
800m Run Final
Trina Bills - Third Place
Bills added points for the Lions claiming third place in the 800m at 2:15.19 seconds.

500m Run Final
Samuel Miner - Fourth Place
For the second time in her career, Okeke captured the Ivy League triple jump title on Sunday. With a career-best leap 12.87m, Okeke took first place ahead of teammate and 2012 indoor triple jump champion Eke. Eke finished runner-up in the event with a season best leap of 12.84m.
800m Run Final
Harrison McFann - Second Place
Connor Claflin - Third Place
The Lions put together a strong showing in the 800m behind Mcfann's runner-up finish in 1:52.11 seconds. Just behind him was Claflin in third place with a time of 1:52.15 seconds.
1000m Run Final
Brendon Fish - Fourth Place
With a time of 2:27.27, Fish crossed the line in fourth place. Fish added another solid performance to his sophomore season with his season best time in the event.
5000m Run Final
Mike Murphy - Third Place
In his final indoor Heps championship meet, Murphy added points for the Lions with a third place finish in the 5000m. Murphy posted a time of 14:19.98 to lead the Columbia core in the event.
Men's Distance Medley Relay Final
Third Place
The quartet of Mark Feigen, Kevin Boyd, Byron Jones and Daniel Everett combined for a time of 9:53.61 seconds for a third place finish.
4x880 yard Relay Final
Second Place
A runner-up finish in the 4x880 relay was one of the top performances of the day for the Lions. The foursome of Brendon Fish, Connor Claflin, John Gregorek and Harrison McFann posted a time of 7:30.46 for a solid showing in the event.
Up next, the Lions will host the Columbia Final Qualifying Meet on Friday, March 1 - Saturday, March 2 at The Armory.
