THE STORYLINES
COLUMBIA'S STATUS
The Lions are coming off back-to-back one-point losses to Fairfield and Longwood last weekend. Columbia played a back-and-forth affair with the Stags, battling to tie the game on a Grant Mullins 3-pointer with 5.5 seconds remaining before falling in overtime. The following night, the Lancers shot 62.5 percent in the second half and won on a layup with six seconds to go.
BUCKNELL'S STATUS
The Bison have dropped two close contests as well, a two-point loss overtime loss to Siena and a four-point defeat at Penn State. Bucknell's other defeat came to ACC foe Wake Forest on Nov. 18.
Chris Hass leads Bucknell averaging 18.7 points. Nana Foulland is posting 12.0 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.
SERIES HISTORY... BUCKNELL
This will be the sixth meeting in the last seven years between the schools and the Bison hold a 4-3 edge in the all-time series. The Lions won last season's meeting, 61-39, but have never won in Lewisburg in three previous tries.
COLUMBIA VS. THE PATRIOT LEAGUE
Columbia has a rich history playing teams in the Patriot League. The Lions are 128-97 against teams currently in the conference. Columbia's most common opponent is Army, who they have faced 57 times. Last season, the Lions went 4-1 against the Patriot League and they defeated Lehigh, 88-61, on Nov. 22.
FROM DOWNTOWN
Columbia has been relient on the 3-point shot this season with over half (51.5 percent) of its attempts coming from beyond the arc. The Lions 206 attempts are fifth in the NCAA and rank sixth in the nation in total makes (79) and makes per game (11.3). Individually, Grant Mullins' 22 connections from 3-point range puts him 17th in the country.
