The Columbia women's soccer team ends the 2018 campaign at 8-7-1, 4-2 Ivy League

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — The Columbia women's soccer team played its final game of the regular season Saturday afternoon, dropping a 2-1 decision to Harvard at Jordan Field. The Lions end the season with an overall record of 8-7-1, including a 4-3 record in Ivy League play. Harvard concludes its campaign at 7-7-1, 4-2-1 Ivy.

Harvard was able to take an early lead in the game, scoring in the 11th minute of play, but it didn't take long for the Lions to answer back with a score of their own.

For the third-straight game, first-year midfielder Jess Schildkraut recorded a first-half goal as she put Columbia on the board in the 17th minute. After senior Emma Anderson's shot bounced off the crossbar, Schildkraut was there to clean it up, sending it in from just in front of the goal to equalize the score at 1-1.

From there, both teams fought to keep possession, but Harvard ultimately pulled ahead in the 79th minute and the Lions would not recover.

Columbia outshot Harvard, 10-9, but the Crimson held a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
