PRINCETON, N.J. – For the fourth time this season, Columbia Volleyball senior Chichi Ikwuazom has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 7, following the previous week that saw the Lion senior rack up 67 total kills while hitting .514 over three matches, including a four-set win over Penn (Oct. 5) that gave the Lions their first Ivy League win of the season.
 
Ikwuazom opened the week with 23 kills, 5.75 kills per set, while hitting .576 in a four-set loss at home to Stony Brook on Sept. 30.  It was the spark that sent Ikwuazom on a tear that would include 67 total kills and an average of 5.75 kills per set, adding to her totals, Ikwuazom had at least 20 kills over the three matches played giving her at least 20 kills in 11 matches this season.
 
The Lions went into its first Ivy League weekend with a pair of matches, and Ikwuazom's high-level of production continued, totaling 44 kills, 5.58 kills per set and she hit .486 over the two matches.  In Columbia's first match of the weekend, at Princeton (Oct. 4/L, 1-3) Ikwuazom finished with 24 kills on 43 total attacks, while hitting .442 while averaging 6.00 kills per set.
 
At Penn (W, 3-1), on Oct. 5, Ikwuazom was a key factor to the Lions snagging their first Ivy League win of the season, finishing with 20 kills while hitting .552.  She averaged 5.00 kills per set on 29 total attacks in Columbia's win at The Palestra.
 
Nationally, Ikwuazom still ranks top three in three categories, she is second in hitting percentage (.480) and points per set (6.39) and third in the country in kills per set (5.76).  The native New Yorker also sits inside the top 10 nationally in two other categories, coming in at sixth in total points (326) and seventh in total kills (294).
