Lions to Host Penn, No. 19 Princeton for Senior Weekend

Lions wrestle Penn on Saturday (4 p.m.), No. 19 Princeton on Sunday (2 p.m.); Senior Day set for Sunday vs. Princeton; Eight Lions seniors to be honored in a pre-match ceremony.
NEW YORK—Columbia Wrestling concludes its home schedule and hosts Senior Weekend when it takes on Penn on Saturday (4 p.m.) and No. 19 Princeton on Sunday (2 p.m.) at Dodge Fitness Center. Both EIWA dual matches will be played at University Gymnasium (Blue Gym).

Sunday's match vs. Princeton marks Senior Day as Columbia's eight seniors will honored in a pre-match ceremony. Those seniors include JP Ascolese, Christian Briody, Donny Donnelly, Max Elling, Tom Miers, Dan Reed, Sam Ward and Jacob Young.
ABOUT THE LIONS
Columbia enters the weekend with a 6-3 overall dual meet record following back-to-back home victories over Hofstra (25-18) and Sacred Heart (34-4). Dan Reed leads the Lions with a 19-4 record at 157 pounds, while Laurence Kosoy is 17-9 at 165 pounds. Other double digit winners include Elling (14-12), Danny Fongaro (13-9), Joe Manchio (13-10), Matt Kazimir (12-2), Riley Jacops (10-8) and Sam Wustefeld (10-11). Penn enters the weekend with a 3-5 dual match record. The Quakers, which wrestle at Cornell on Friday night, are ranked No. 20 in the NWCA/NDS Mid-Major top-20 poll. The Quakers are led by Carmen Ferrante (18-5) at 125 pounds and Anthony Artalona (17-3) at 149 pounds. Penn has not won an away dual this year.
ABOUT PRINCETON
Princeton (6-5) enters the weekend ranked No. 19 nationally in the NWCA Coaches' poll. Princeton is also ranked No. 12 in the NWCA/NDS Mid-Major top-20 poll. The Tigers wrestle at Cornell on Saturday before traveling to New York City to take on Columbia.
