Columbia finalizes its out of conference slate against Adelphi on Tuesday.
NEW YORK -- The Columbia women's soccer team (6-4-1) will host Adelphi University at Rocco B. Commisso Stadium on Tuesday, October 12 with a 7:00 P.M. kickoff.

#1 | GAINING MOMENTUM
Following a pair of conference losses against Cornell and Brown, Columbia bounced back to secure a 2-0 victory over visiting Penn on Saturday, Oct. 9. Sophomore standout Nata Ramirez netted her fifth goal of the season off a penalty kick, before assisting freshman Sophia Cavaliere's fourth strike of the year. After contributing to a goal in five of the last seven contests, Ramirez now leads the Lions in goals (5), assists (5), and overall points (14).
#2 | END OF OUT OF CONFERENCE
Tuesday's contest marks the final non-conference matchup of the 2021 season. On the year, the Lions have gone 5-2-1 in non-conference play including five consecutive wins from September 5 to September 19. Of note, the Lions defeated La Salle 2-1 in double overtime on September 8 and snapped Quinnipiac's five-game undefeated streak with a 1-0 result on September 19th.
#3 | TRACKING APPEARANCES
The Lions carry a roster where underclassmen outnumber upperclassmen 23-9. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic neither the freshmen or sophomore classes had seen game action ahead of the season opener. Through 11 games, 21 rookie Lions have played their first collegiate minutes. Their appearances are detailed below.

Seven different Lions have been named to the Ivy League's Weekly Honor Roll, including Nata Ramirez and Sophia Cavaliere who both grab their third honors this week.

#5 | THE OPPONENT
Columbia faces Adelphi (4-3-2) for the first time in program history.
The Panthers have won three of their last four contests, most recently coming off a 1-1 tie with Saint Michael's College on October, 9. Members of the Northeast-10 Conference, Adelphi owns a 4-3-1 conference record having faced just one out of conference rival, Mercy College, in its season opener.
Freshman forward Carly Issing leads Adelphi in goals (3) and total points (7) while teammate Kayla Mushorn paces the Panthers with two assists.
Senior goalkeepers Krista Aliscio and Sarah Hofmeier have split time in goal, with Hofmeier primarily playing in the starting role. Hofmeier has seen over 650 minutes of play, including starts in the last five matchups, and owns 0.788 save percentage with a 0.96 goals against average.
