Ruedt Headlines Women’s Soccer’s All-Ivy Honorees

Four Lions pick up accolades

PRINCETON, N.J. — Sophomore defender Courtney Ruedt was named First Team All-Ivy League to highlight a quartet of Lions to earn All-Ivy honors. The Ivy League office announced its 2022 postseason women's soccer honors and awards Wednesday afternoon.

Joining Ruedt as Columbia's All-Ivy representatives were Second-Team selection Ania Prussak, Honorable Mention Maia Tabion and Academic All-Ivy winner Jordan Beverina. This marks the first time since 2019 that the Lions had at least one player pick up the four separate honors.

Ruedt transferred to Columbia after reaching the NCAA Women's College Cup Final Four last season at Rutgers. She made an immediate impact on Columbia's defense. The Wayne, New Jersey native played in all 15 games, starting 14, and saw the field for 1,242 out of a possible 1,350 minutes. While she didn't rack up a lot of stats as a defender, Ruedt helped the Lions to four shutouts.

Prussak's role increased from her 2021 rookie season to her 2022 All-Ivy sophomore campaign. The Glen Ridge, New Jersey native scored three goals and assisted four more to share Columbia's team-lead with 10 points. Her first collegiate goal helped Columbia defeat Loyola Maryland, 3-2, while her first Ivy League goal helped the Lions rally from a goal down to defeat Penn, 2-1. Prussak saw the field for 1,033 minutes and ranked top three on the roster in shots (22) and shots on goal (13). Tabioin's Honorable Mention first-year campaign came with three goals and a pair of assists. She scored in three of the team's first five games, leading the Lions to a 3-1-1 start, and also picked up her first Ivy League assist as part of a 1-0 victory over Cornell. Adding to her rookie season, the Sammarish, Washington native was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week twice, and was also selected to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Freshman Top 100 list. Like Ruedt and Prussak, Tabion also tallied over 1,000 minutes on the field.

Jordan Beverina earned the Lions' Academic All-Ivy League selection. Each program within the league gets one representative. The senior boasts a 3.91 GPA as an economics major at Columbia College. She played in 13 of the team's 15 games this year and earned two starts at defense.
