Cross Country Finishes METS Championships

Tyler Tubman, Daniela Quintero lead Lions

BRANCH BROOK, N.J. – The Columbia cross country teams were both back in action this weekend, competing at the METS Championships hosted by NJIT on Saturday morning. 

The men finished the event in fourth place with 96 points, while the women came in fifth place with 125 points.

Tyler Tubman paced the Lions with a seventh place finish in the men's 8k, finishing with a time of 26:05.3. Nicholas Hayden was behind him in 21st place with a time of 26:41.9. Jacob Van Orden finished right behind Hayden in 23rd place with a time of 26:42.7.

Daniela Quintero led the women, coming in eighth place in the 5k with a time of 18:25.8. Lucy Henkel took 14th place, finishing with a time of 18:47.4. Namoi Toft clocked in at 19:39.1 which was good for 27th place.

Next up for the Lions will be the ECAC Championships hosted at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday, October 18 at 9:30 a.m.
