Andy Leon Named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week

The junior starter hurled five quality innings at No. 4 Florida
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia baseball starting pitcher Andy Leon has been named Ivy League Pitcher of the Week for the second time in his career, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Leon tossed five quality innings in his season debut on Saturday night at No. 4 Florida. The junior from Sugar Land, Texas allowed just one run on two hits and struck out four Gators. Fielding his position on the mound, he recorded an assist and putout in his start.
Leon held one of the nation's best offenses to a .118 batting average on Saturday. His ERA sits at 1.80 after his first start.
Columbia hosts Marist for four games this weekend from Robertson Field at Satow Stadium. First pitch in the Lions' home opener on Friday is set for 2 p.m.
