Nee enters her fourth season with the Columbia Lacrosse program with a new title
NEW YORK – The Columbia lacrosse program and Head Coach Anne Murray have officially announced the promotion of Shannon Nee to Associate Head Coach on Friday afternoon.
"There is a great deal that Shannon has added beyond her 3.5 years of service to our program," Murray said. "Her impact is felt by ALL in the Columbia athletic department. She is a constant on and off the field and she brings such a diverse experience to the University. We are thrilled with her elevation and excited to see what she does within this new role!"
Nee has been instrumental in the Lions' growth as a program in her three years, helping coach Dani Falcone to multiple Ivy honors, and helping guide Michelle Zhai and Anna Becker into the record books in just their first seasons with the team. Nee also has spent time gaining experience as a coach for the Philippines at the 2025 Asia-Pacific Women's Lacrosse Championship World Qualifiers.
"I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Anne and the Senior Administration for the opportunity and trust in promoting me," Nee said. "I'm honored by this recognition and excited to take on the new responsibilities. Anne's leadership, guidance and support has been instrumental in my growth as a coach and I look forward to contributing even more to Columbia Lacrosse's success. Thank you for your continued support and belief in my abilities. Roar Lion Roar."
The Lions return to practice tomorrow to officially begin the 2025 campaign, with opening day scheduled for February 15 against the Oregon Ducks on the road in Eugene.
