- Title:
- Assistant Coach
Shannon Mozek joined the Columbia softball program as an assistant coach in January of 2026.
Mozek returns to the Columbia softball program after serving as a volunteer assistant in head coach Jennifer Teague's first year with the program. Mozek will assist in all aspects of the program this spring, throwing BP and working with the pitchers in the bullpen.
?
She brings a wealth of experience both on the field and off it. Mozek was a four-time letter winner for Montclair State University, where she was a four-time all-conference selection and three-time All-America Girls Got Game and NJAC Academic All-conference recipient. In 2012, Mozek helped lead the Red Hawks to an NCAA Regional championship as a senior, earning them a trip to the Division III NCAA Softball Championships.
Off the field, Mozek built a strong foundation in athletic leadership and community impact. She previously served as Director of Athletics for the Boys & Girls Club of America, where she oversaw athletic programming, coordinated events and logistics, managed budgets and fundraising efforts, and partnered with community, state, and regional organizations to expand access to youth sports.
She later transitioned into education and coaching, serving as a Physical Education and Health educator and as a high school softball coach at Passaic County Technical Institute. In these roles, Mozek focused on athlete development, performance training, and mentorship, emphasizing lifelong fitness, injury prevention, mental health awareness, and team culture within a diverse, academically driven environment.
Building on her background in sports, leadership, and education, Mozek moved into national and global client-facing roles across sports, luxury, and consumer markets. She has worked with organizations and agencies to manage key accounts, support sponsorship and partnership initiatives, and execute brand activations, collaborating across teams to drive brand visibility and effective engagement.
Mozek holds a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance from Montclair State University, a Master's degree in Health and Wellness, and a Master's Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University. She is based in the Greater New York Area.
