Sunderland AFC Ladies have completed the signing of Beverly Leon '14CC who joins the Lady Black Cats as a free agent having finished her season with Italian side ASD Valpolicella CF in June.
The winger, who was born in Wrentham, Mass., completed the 2015-2016 season with an impressive 12 goals in 14 games.
Leon also played four seasons at Columbia University. A two-time All-Ivy League honoree and a NSCAA Division I All-Region third team, she became just the sixth Lion in pogram history to garner All-Region recognition. In her senior season, she lead the Lions in scoring with 24 points behind nine goals and six assists.
While earning a degree in History she was named the "Boston Globe Female Player of the Year" and recieved NCSAA Scholar All-East Region honors.
