NEWS/NOTES
COLUMBIA'S STATUS
• The Lions are fresh off their second weekend sweep of the year, topping Brown in their Ivy League opener, and a hard-fought 2-1 win over Quinnipiac.
• Columbia will look to get off to a 2-0 start in Ivy League play for the third straight year and the fourth time in program history.
• Columbia has two players tied for the Ivy League lead in goals, with Jennifer Trieschman and Allison Smith each having five goals on the season. Kelsey Farkas is tied for second with four.
• Smith is also leading the league with three game-winning goals on the year.
• Brooke Gasser is third in the Ancient Eight with a team-high five assists.
CORNELL'S STATUS
• The Big Red dropped their first Ivy League game last weekend, falling to Penn, 5-2, but bounced back with a 4-1 victory over Colgate Tuesday.
• Cornell's only other loss on the season came to No. 14 Saint Joseph's and the Big Red sit at No. 13 in the latest RPI released by the NCAA Tuesday.
• Cornell leads the Ivy League with 2.83 goals per game.
• Grace Royer has five goals and three assists for 13 points.
• In net, Maddie Henry has started all six games with a 2.41 GAA and .659 save percentage.
ALBANY'S STATUS
• The Great Danes are on a six game winning streak heading into their weekend games. Albany has only allowed two goals while scoring 25 in that stretch.
• Albany's only three losses all came to top-20 teams, including No. 6 Harvard and No. 5 Princeton. All of their losses have been decided by one goal.
• Dana Bozek leads the team with nine goals on the season.
• The Great Danes are allowing just 1.34 goals per game entering their weekend series. Melissa Nealon has three shutouts and holds a 1.45 GAA and .786 save percentage.
INSIDE THE SERIES - CORNELL
The Lions sport a 6-17 all-time record against Cornell. However, Columbia has won its last three matches in the series, including a 2-0 win last season.
INSIDE THE SERIES - ALBANY
Sunday will mark the sixth time the Lions have taken on the Great Danes. Albany holds 4-2 mark in the series. The teams last met Oct. 13, 2013, a 6-0 win for the Great Danes. The Lions two wins were decided in overtime, and in each of the four losses Albany shut out the Lions.
