The Lions will take on the Crimson at 5 p.m. at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium on Saturday
NEW YORK — The Columbia women's soccer program will play its final regular season contest on Saturday evening, facing off against the Harvard Crimson at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium. Prior to the 5 p.m. ET kickoff, Columbia will honor its eight seniors – Taylor Duran, Amalya Johnson, Emily Koe, Adriana Kuryla-Santos, Reilly Lucas, Bailey Peacock, Taylor Penn and Maddie Temares – in a special ceremony.
As always, fans can watch the match live on ESPN+, while live statistics are available here.
The Lions, ranked No. 52 in the current NCAA RPI, enter Saturday's finale with a 9-3-3 overall record, including a 3-1-2 mark in Ivy League contests. With a win over the Crimson, Columbia would have its first 10-win season since the 2006 league championship team.
Coming off an impressive 3-1 victory over Yale a week ago, Columbia will look to continue its winning ways against another top team. In the win over Yale, Columbia used goals from forwards Emily Koe, Jordyn Geller and Shira Cohen to get the job done while Bulldogs were held scoreless until the 68th minute.
With her team-leading fourth goal of the season against the Bulldogs, Cohen now leads the Lions in with 11 points. Sophomore midfielder Jessica Schildkraut has a team-best six assists plus two goals for 10 points on the campaign. First-year keeper Liz Matei has started all 15 contests for the Lions, posting a .797 save percentage and .97 goals against average.
SCOUTING HARVARD
The Crimson sit second in the Ivy standings sitting at 12-3, 5-1 Ivy and are No. 37 in the NCAA RPI. Similar to the Lions, Harvard's lone conference loss came against league-leading Brown who heads into the final week still undefeated in conference play.
Outscoring opponents 34-15 on the season, Harvard is led in scoring by first-year forward Angela Caloia who has 23 points behind six goals and 11 assists, while first-year forward Gabby DelPico has a team-leading seven goals to go with six assists.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Although two of the last three contests between the teams have gone to extra minutes, the Lions have not had a win in the series since 2007. Last season, the Crimson claimed a 2-1 victory in Cambridge.
ON DECK
A Columbia win on Saturday would surely increase the Lions chances for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Selection Show will air on Monday, Nov. 11 at 4:30 p.m. on NCAA.com.
