OPENING TIP-OFF
• Columbia fell to Fordham, 77-67, Tuesday night after a hot shooting start by the Rams.
• The Lions saw seven players make their collegiate debuts Tuesday and transfer Patrick Harding played his first game with Columbia as well. Harding, along with newcomers Zavian McLean, Liam Murphy and Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa all earned starting nods in the opener.
• The Lions will play their first game on Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium in 622 days when they welcome the Red Foxes to the Big Apple. The contest also kicks off a three-game home stand.

MARIST'S STATUS
The Red Foxes dropped their season opener at American in overtime, 77-73, in a tightly contested game Tuesday. American was up nine with 2:18 to go, but Marist stormed back and tied the game with under 10 seconds left. The Red Foxes scored the first four points of overtime, however, the Eagles rebounded with an 8-0 run to take the lead for good. Raheim Sullivan led all scorers with 23, a new career high. He also had four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Columbia is 2-6 all-time against Marist. In the last meeting in Levien on December 28, 2019, the Lions used a big second half to earn a 69-54 victory over the Red Foxes. Columbia outscored Marist, 25-9, over a 10-minute span. After the break, Columbia shot 63.6 percent (14-of-22) from the floor and converted on 4-of-6 of its attempts from beyond the arc.
COLUMBIA AGAINST THE MAAC
Columbia holds a 25-27 record against teams currently in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Lions most common opponent is Manhattan, who they have faced 24 times (15-9). Columbia's last win against a MAAC foe was its win over Marist in December 2019.
HOME SWEET HOME
The Lions are 84-34 all-time in home openers and has won nine of their last 12 openers in Levien Gymnasium.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
After losing over 80-percent of its scoring from 2019-20, Columbia's rookies netted 60 of its 77 points (75-percent) Tuesday night. First-year Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa led the way with 16 points, while Liam Murphy chipped in 13. Jaden Cooper and Robbie Stankard combined for 12 points off the bench and Patrick Harding added four. Noah Robledo and Josh Odunowo also saw action in the opener.
