PHILADELPHIA/NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Columbia Track & Field posted a second-place finish in the women's 4x400m Relay to highlight the Lions time at the Penn Relays (Apr. 27-30), while at the Yale Springtime Invitational the Lions took four events and had 23 top-five finishes on Sunday, May 1.
The women's 4x400m Relay squad of
Alexis Knight,
Sydney Goldson,
Kimmi Woods and
Amara Onyeukwu clocked a time of 3:42.00 to cross the line in second place for Columbia's best overall finish at the Penn Relays. While in the field,
Kali Hatcher leaped 12.74m to finish fourth in the women's triple jump.
At the Yale Springtime Invite, the Lions got event wins from
Tess Darnell (400m Hurdles),
Lauren Grela (3,000m),
Jahi Hernandez (200m) and
Gavin White (3,000m Steeplechase). Darnell clocked a time of 1:04.30, Grela finished in 9:59.22, Hernandez passed the line at 21.53 and White crossed in 9:39.67.
Columbia also went one-two in the women's 400m Hurdles and men's 200m with
Fredericka Walker finishing second in with a time of 1:04.92 in the 400m Hurdles and
Chris Balthazar clocking a second-place time of 21.56 in the 200m.
