Bartholomew earns 200th Division I victory
NEW YORK — Sam Cohn recorded a goal and assist for three points as the Columbia women's soccer team defeated Hostra 2-1 on the road. The victory marks head coach Tracey Bartholomew's 200th win as a Division I head coach.
Of Bartholomew's 200 wins, 60 have come at Columbia. Associate head coach Amphone Keovongmanysar has been at Bartholomew's side for every success.
The Lions and Pride held scoreless for 40 minutes until junior Annie Diaz-Silveira tallied her first goal of the season to put Columbia up 1-0. The goal came off assists by both Cohn and first-year Charlyse Berry.
Backed by momentum, the Lions struck quickly in the second half. Three minutes into play, Cohn, a defender, recorded her first career tally off an assist from Ania Prussak over the outstretched hand of Hofstra's keeper.
In goal, Paige Nurkin played a complete game making two saves.
Columbia returns home Saturday, Sept. 24 for the first Ivy League contest of 2022. The Lions will face Cornell at 6:00 p.m. at Rocco B. Commisso Stadium.
