NEW YORK – Senior goalkeeper
Paige Nurkin went out on a high note in her final game at Rocco B. Commisso Soccer Stadium Saturday as she tallied three saves to record her sixth shutout of the season and the team's eighth shutout win of the season in a 4-0 victory over Yale.
Nurkin played all 90 minutes in the net to notch her seventh win of the season and help keep the Lions in the hunt for one of four spots in the Ivy League Tournament.
With another shutout, Nurkin is now tied for 15
th in the nation in goals against average at .500 as she has allowed just six goals all season. Nurkin is No. 12 in the nation in save percentage with a rate of .880.
As a team, Columbia is No. 5 in the nation in goals against average at .429. The Lions are also No. 7 in save percentage at .885 and No. 12 in shutout percentage at a rate of 64.3%.
Looking to secure a spot in the Ivy League Tournament, Columbia wraps up the regular season with a contest at Princeton on Saturday, October 28. First kick is set for 4 p.m. and the game will be shown live on SNY and NBC Sports Philadelphia. Fans can also stream the game through ESPN+.
