LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Lions traveled to New Jersey for a clash against the Princeton Tigers.Â
The Lions and Tigers traded a couple goals early on in the first quarter, but it was Princeton who gained control taking a 6-2 lead by the end of the period. From that point on, it was all Tigers. They went on a 6-0 run to gain a 12-2 advantage before the half.
Zachara tried to light a fire under the Lions by beating the buzzer and scoring a goal with just six seconds left in the half, but, unfortunately, it wouldn't do the trick. Columbia couldn't really get much going in the second half, and Princeton went on to win 19-4.Â
Sophie Zachara led the Lions' attack with two goals.Â
Cecelia Messner andÂ
Gianna Danese each had one goal. GoalkeepersÂ
Ella Sangree notched 10 saves for the Lions.Â
Cordelia Flemming led Columbia with four draw controls to go with a caused turnover.Â
Ellie Eisner had a team-high three ground balls.Â
SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
The Big Green enter tomorrow's contest with a 4-7 overall record, and a 1-3 record in Ivy League Play. Dartmouth's one Ivy League win came over the Brown Bears.Â
Last time out, the Big Green defeated non-conference opponent UMass Lowell, 16-7.Â
Catherine Erb and Christensen are tied for the team-lead in goals with 23 each. Boo Dewitt sits second with 17 followed by Maja Desmond in third with 15. Nieve Donegan has a team-high 10 caused turnovers, while Isabella Godsick is up to 58 draw controls this season and is second in the Ivy League for draw controls per game with 5.27. Gisele Todd has started all 11 games in goal for the Big Green, making 96 saves and has a save percentage of .436, the second-highest mark in the league. Todd also leads Dartmouth in ground balls with 23.
The last time the Lions and the Big Green faced off, Dartmouth was victorious in New Hampshire. Columbia's last win against the Big Green came in 2017.Â
