
Volleyball Concludes 2024 Season Against Yale and Brown at Levien

Lions welcome Yale on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by Brown on Saturday at 6 p.m.
All fans who plan to attend any of the matches will need to use the entrance to Levien Gymnasium on 120th street.
INITIATIVES
On Friday, the Lions will be hosting a Mental Health Awareness Game. Columbia players will be wearing green during the game in support of Hilinski's Hope Foundation (H3H). Sports are more than physical, which is why Columbia believes mental health is a critical part of being a successful student-athlete. Columbia is joining the mission to make mental health a priority. Saturday, the Lions will be celebrating Senior Night. Columbia will honor its three seniors, Harper Justema, Anna Gioranidi, and Hailee Watts, prior to the game.
LAST TIME OUT
Last game, the Lions were defeated by straight sets by Princeton in New Jersey.
The tightest set was the first, as a kill from Harper Justema cut the Tigers' early lead to 14-13. From there Princeton pulled away, ending the set on a 4-0 run to win it 25-16. The Tigers carried that momentum into the final two sets, coasting on to get the sweep.
Amanda Holsen led the Lions with seven kills in the match, and Eva Atkins added five kills.
SCOUTING YALE
Yale enters the weekend with a 16-4 overall record. The Bulldogs are 11-1 so far in Ivy League play, with a lone loss to Princeton. Most recently, they swept Dartmouth and Harvard.
With a win, Yale will clinch at least a share of the Ivy League title.
Earlier this year, the Bulldogs beat the Lions in four sets in New Haven.
Betsy Goodenow is fresh off winning her second Ivy League Player of the Week award, after averaging 5.08 points, 4.33 kills, 3.00 digs, and 1.00 block per set in Yale's victories last weekend over Dartmouth and Harvard.
SCOUTING BROWN
Brown enters the weekend with a 9-13 overall record. The Bears are 6-6 so far in Ivy League play, with recent wins over Dartmouth and Harvard.
Brown is currently fourth in the Ivy League, and will be looking to clinch a spot in the Ivy League Tournament this weekend.

Maria Sidorova was named Ivy League Co-Player of the Week this past week, totaling 4.33 kills per set (39) and 2.56 digs per set (23) as Brown beat Harvard and Dartmouth over the weekend. Sidorova started the weekend with 14 kills and 11 digs in a four-set win over Harvard. Against Dartmouth, she hit .345, had 25 kills and had 12 digs for her sixth-straight double-double. Julia Kakkis just won her second consecutive Ivy League Rookie of the Week award, finishing the weekend averaging 10.44 assists per set and 2.78 digs per set. She also had six kills and five blocks.
