CALI, Colombia – Columbia women's soccer player
Samantha Weiss officially earned a spot on the Argentina team roster to compete in the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
As a midfielder for Argentina, Weiss will be among a group of the brightest emerging talents and future superstars of the women's game. A total of 504 players have been called up by participating nations to take the field in South America from August 31 to September 22. The Colombia competition will be the first edition of the tournament to feature 24 teams, delivering on FIFA's commitment to providing more opportunities to more players across the globe.
This will be the third FIFA tournament held in the South American nation after the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2011™ and the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2016™. Furthermore, it will be the second edition of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup organised in the CONMEBOL region, after Chile hosted the event in 2008.
Weiss and Argentina will get the group stage started with a match against Korea DPR on September 2. Argentina will then meet Netherlands on September 5 before finishing the group stage slate against Costa Rica on September 8. The full match schedule for the U-20 Women's World Cup can be accessed

Weiss earned four starts and played in 15 games as a rookie at Columbia last season. She totaled 599 minutes of playing time while tallying five shots and two shots on goal.
