LAST TIME OUT
The Lions clinched a postseason berth with a 2-1 victory over Harvard last Saturday at Commisso Stadium in the regular season finale.
First-year forward Evelyn Javers was sensational, turning in a breakout performance when it mattered most. The rookie forward scored both Columbia goals, one in each half, and was a constant threat in the attacking third. Javers opened the scoring in the 18th minute when she finished a through ball from Maia Tabion to give the Lions early momentum. She struck again in the 53rd minute, finishing off a pass from Annie Faraone to double the lead and ignite the home crowd on senior day.
Harvard got one back and cut the deficit to one goal in the 89th minute with a goal from Erin Gordon, but Columbia's back line held strong from start to finish. Senior Justina Bitzer and juniors Leila Hawkins and Aoife Turner anchored a disciplined defensive unit that limited Harvard to just six shots on goal despite 12 total attempts. Goalkeeper Samantha Mahoney made five saves, including several key stops in the second half, to preserve the lead and seal the crucial victory.

SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
Dartmouth enters the tournament as the conference's second seed, sporting a 9-3-4 overall record and 4-1-2 mark in Ivy play.
The Lions and the Big Green squared off on October 4 in New Hampshire, with Dartmouth escaping with a 1-0 win. After an evenly played opening 45 minutes that saw few clear chances for either side and great defense, the game's only goal came in the 70th minute when the Big Green's Nadia Young found the back of the net off an assist from Frankie Valverde. Columbia continued to fight until the final whistle, earning two late corners and testing Dartmouth's defense in the closing minutes, but couldn't find the equalizer.
Last time out, Dartmouth finished the regular season with a 2-1 win over Cornell on Saturday at Burnham Field. This win allowed the Big Green to earn their best regular-season finish since 2014.
Ola Goebel made four saves in the regular-season finale, tying for her second most of the season. Goebel finished the regular season leading the league in shutouts per game (6) and goals against average (.421). She also sits fifth in the nation in save percentage (.886).
Led by Taylor Schram, Dartmouth's Coaching Staff was named Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year on Wednesday. In Addition, Anna Leschly was recognized as the league's Rookie of the Year, while her, Goebel, Stephanie Lathrop, Ellie Davidson, and Hailey Rorick received All-Ivy recognition. Lathrop leads the league in multiple categories, including shots (51), shots on goal (22) and goals (7), while placing second in points with 18.
