Lions match against Crimson to be televised on SNY
NEW YORK - The Columbia volleyball program returns home this weekend after a lengthy nine-match road trip. Friday's home match against Harvard will be televised on SNY and is scheduled for 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Lions and Big Green will face off at 5 p.m.
Both matches will feature live stats, and fans can also follow the live stream on ESPN+. Perri Kitei and Chrystal Stone will have the call live courtside.
All fans planning to attend either of the matches will need to use the entrance to Levien Gymnasium located on 120th Street.
QUICK HITS
• After going 0-2 last weekend, the Lions enter this weekend 6-6 overall, but are 0-3 in Ivy League play.
• Columbia is currently mired in a three-match losing streak, with their last win coming on Sept. 19 against Stonehill.
• Last time out, Columbia lost at Penn 3-1.

The Lions took the opening set 25-23 at Penn and battled all match, but fell 3-1 to the Quakers in Philadelphia. Three Lions had 10+ kills, led by Charlotte Gravlee's 15. Elena Maynulet and Danica Nordlicht also had 10 apiece. Setters Claire Mo and Clara Yu both tallied double-doubles.
COMING UP ACES
Through 12 matches, the Lions are one of the Nation's top teams at serving up aces. Columbia averages 1.91 aces per set, which is 29th in the country and second in the Ivy League. Two Lions rank in the top-40 in the nation in aces per set: Clara Yu is 26th, averaging 0.55 aces per set, followed by Madison Hsieh (38th - 0.51). The Lions' 86 total aces are currently third in the Ivy League, behind league leader Dartmouth (93) and Harvard (90).
WHO IS HOT
Charlotte Gravlee is coming off a strong individual performance against Penn. The Lions opposite/middle hitter smashed 15 kills against the Quakers - the second time in her career she has tallied 10+ kills. For the weekend, Gravlee averaged 2.86 kills per set while hitting .389. Fellow middle blocker Danica Nordlicht also had an impressive weekend. She averaged 1.71 kills per set, hit .360, and averaged 0.86 blocks per set.
SCOUTING HARVARD
The Crimson's league-leading 11-match winning streak ended last Saturday when they lost 3-1 to Brown in Providence. At 11-1 overall and 2-1 in the Ivy League, the Crimson are currently tied for second in the conference standings. As a team, Harvard averages 12.53 kills per set, third-best in the conference, while hitting a conference-leading .257. Defensively, they limit opponents to 11.82 kills per set while hitting .174. The Crimson boast a trio of players averaging better than 2.40 kills per set and are led by sophomore outside hitter Sofia Rossi with 2.81 kills per set. Friday's match against the Crimson will be the 71st meeting between the two teams in a series dating back to Nov. 1983. All-time, the Lions are 23-47 against Harvard and are 16-18 at home. Last year, the Crimson swept the two meetings against the Lions, winning both matches in three sets.
SCOUTING DARTMOUTH
The Big Green enters this weekend at 6-7 overall and 0-3 in the Ivy League. On Friday, they take on Cornell before coming to Levien Gymnasium for Saturday's contest. Last time out, the Big Green fell to Yale in three on the road. As a team, Dartmouth boasts a potent attack, averaging 12.43 kills per set while hitting .208. Both numbers are in the top half of the conference. Defensively, the Big Green struggle, allowing their opponents to hit .208 while averaging 12.59 kills per set. Leading Dartmouth are sophomores Zori Brown and Riley Imamura, who are averaging 3.24 and 3.12 kills per set, respectively. Saturday will be the 63rd meeting between these two schools. All-time, the Lions are 25-37 against the Big Green, who currently boast an 11-match winning streak against Columbia.
