Former All-Ivy standout returns to Morningside Heights as assistant coach
NEW YORK – Columbia women's soccer has announced the addition of former standout Nata Ramirez to its coaching staff as an assistant coach. Ramirez returns to Morningside Heights following an accomplished collegiate playing career with the Lions and a graduate season at Rutgers.
Ramirez was a three-time All-Ivy League selection during her time at Columbia, earning First Team honors in 2021 and 2024 and Second Team recognition in 2023. She was also named Second Team All-East Region in 2024.
During her final season with the Lions in 2024, Ramirez led Columbia with seven goals and eight assists while starting all 16 matches. She previously helped guide the program to its first-ever NCAA Tournament at-large bid and first NCAA Tournament victory in 2023, scoring in Columbia's second-round matchup against Clemson.
Ramirez spent the 2025 season at Rutgers, competing in the Big Ten as a graduate student. She made an immediate impact for the Scarlet Knights, contributing offensively throughout the season, including game-winning goals against Fairfield and Indiana.
A native of Elizabeth, New Jersey, Ramirez also brings international experience, having represented Colombia at the U-17 and U-20 national team levels, including an appearance at the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
Ramirez earned her bachelor's degree in economics from Columbia and pursued a master's degree in digital marketing at Rutgers.
