Andrew Frankel begins his second season at Columbia University as a volunteer assistant coach. Frankel will work primarily with the goalkeepers.

A four-year letterwinner at Fairfield University, Frankel was a two-time All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference first team selection in 2003 and 2005 and helped the Stags to an undefeated regular-season league mark as a senior and a trip to the MAAC Tournament finals.
 
Upon graduation, Frankel was drafted in the fourth round by the Baltimore Blast of the Major Indoor Soccer League and played one season with the team.
 
A standout student who was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team three times, Frankel graduated from Fairfield cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies. He recently completed graduate work at Columbia’s School of Arts and Science, obtaining a master’s degree in Buddhist Studies in the spring of 2009.
