NEW YORK – The score was all knotted up at zero up until the final minute, when Yale's Aerial Chavarin sent a penalty kick past Columbia goalie Sophie Whitehouse and the Bulldogs (10-4-2, 3-2-1 Ivy) stole the win at Rocco B. Commisso Stadium, 1-0.
Whitehouse had a great day in goal, with 4 saves and 89 minutes of shutout play.
The Lions (9-5-1) are now 5-1 in Ivy League play and have a chance to clinch at least a share of the Ivy title with a win against Harvard next Saturday, November 4th. That game is scheduled for 5 p.m. as Columbia will celebrate the Class of 2018 on Senior Day.
