
5 Things to Know: Columbia Travels to Princeton

The Lions will meet the Tigers on Saturday night, in Princeton.
NEW YORK – The Columbia women's soccer team (6-4-1) will cross the Hudson to take on Ivy League rival Princeton in a 7:00 P.M. matchup on Saturday, Oct. 16.

Here are the top five facets to consider before Saturday:
#1 | FORGING AHEAD
The Lions are enjoying a two-game win streak having defeated both Penn and Adelphi in shutout fashion. Columbia earned its first Ivy League victory with a pair of goals against visiting Penn, punctuated by sophomore Nata Ramirez's penalty strike. Against Adelphi, the Lions recorded their largest margin of victory since the 2017 season, defeating the visiting Panthers 6-0.
#2 | ROAD TRIP
Columbia will be on the road its next two games, facing Dartmouth in Hanover, NH next Saturday, Oct. 23. The Lions will return home for the final two matches of the regular season, hosting Yale on Oct. 30 and Harvard the following Saturday, Nov. 6.
#3 | ROSTER DEPTH
Head Coach Tracey Bartholomew's team has shown great depth in its roster as 31 different athletes have seen game time while boasting seven unique goal scorers. Against Adelphi, five Lions recorded their first career points including Mia Ferrentino with a pair of goals and Stephanie Jung, Kendall McBride, Blake Turner, and Annie Diaz-Silveira dishing out assists.
#4 | IVY LEAGUE HONOR ROLL
Seven Lions have been named to the Ivy League's Weekly Honor Roll, including Nata Ramirez and Sophia Cavaliere who both grab their third honors this week.
This season's honorees are:

#5 | THE OPPONENT
Princeton (9-2-1, 2-1 Ivy) sits third in the Ivy League with a pair of decisive victories over Yale (4-0) and Dartmouth (3-0). Most recently, the Tigers dropped a 1-3 contest to Brown as the Bears remained undefeated in league play.
Princeton is paced by senior Gabi Juarez whose seven goals and four assists lead the team. The forward has proven to be an offensive threat, scoring at least one goal in the last five consecutive contests.
On Oct. 13, two Princeton players were named to the Top Drawer Soccer Women's Midseason Top 100 List. Rookie Heather MacNab was named to the Top 100 Freshman team after scoring three goals with six assists for 12 points thus far. Additionally, MacNab was named both Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Week on Sept. 13. The Indianapolis native has made an immediate impact on Princeton's forward line, notching three goals with a team-leading six assists for the third most points on the team (12).
Defender Madison Curry was named to the Midseason Top 100 list after making ten starts in the first 12 contests. Curry is an integral member of a back line that has held opponents to just 97 shots on the season with 12 goals.
The Tigers boast three unique Ivy League weekly honorees, including MacNab, with Tatum Gee earning Player of the Week honors on Sept. 7 and Lilly Bryant earning Rookie of the Week honors on Oct. 4. Gee has found the back of the net five times this season while dishing out four assists for 14 points on the year, while Bryant follows close behind with four goals and three assists for 11 points.
