PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia softball first-year
Jordan Hill was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Hill tossed more than half of Columbia's total innings last week, hurling 14 1/3 to the tune of a 2.93 ERA. The highlight of her week was a complete-game victory on Saturday against Penn, going seven strong while allowing just a run on five hits and a walk, striking out three. The rookie out of San Dimas, California limited opposing batters to a .271 average.
Hill helped lead the Lions to an Ivy League-opening series victory, taking two-of-three over the weekend against the Quakers. The Lions were picked to win the league in the 2022 preseason poll, while Penn was picked to finish second.
Additionally, junior
Bubba Gleaves was named to the Ivy League Honor Roll. Gleaves hit a team-best .538 last week, slugging .769 and posting an OPS of 1.369. She went 7-for-13 at the plate with two runs, four RBI and her first collegiate home run, which was a grand slam against Penn.
Columbia will prepare for its first home game since 2019 when it hosts Iona on Wednesday. First pitch from the Columbia Softball Stadium is slated for 1 p.m. ET.
