Lions collect first win of the season in victory over Greyhounds
"We are so proud of the relentless effort from everyone on the field, as well as the energy from the sidelines," reflected head coach Tracey Bartholomew. "We continue to believe in our style and working better together. Ally Clark's effort to tie the game was brilliant; the fight in this group is amazing to watch. Loyola played a great game and made the most of their chances."
For the first time this season, Columbia struck first. Grace Hurren headed a corner cross from Ania Prussak into goal for a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute.

Loyola countered with six minutes remaining in the first half; Alex Searing sent home a pass from Baylee DeSmit, leveling the score at 1-1. The Greyhounds would gain their first advantage of the contest nearly five minutes into the second half when DeSmit knocked home a goal of her own moving the score to 2-1, Loyola.
Undeterred, Columbia countered moments later when captain Ally Clark recorded her first goal of the season. Shira Cohen and Maia Tabion broke through the Greyhound defense before Clark sent home the leveling mark.
