Courtney Ruedt Tabbed Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year

Women’s soccer places five on All-Ivy League list
PRINCETON, N.J. – Columbia women's soccer senior defender Courtney Ruedt was named the Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year on Wednesday following the conclusion of the 2024 regular season. In total, five Lions were recognized on the All-Ivy League list.
Ruedt earned Defensive Player of the Year honors after a stellar performance through all seven Ivy League games to help the Lions finish second in the conference standings. Ruedt started all seven league games and played the entire 90 minutes of every game except for the game against Cornell where she totaled 82 minutes. Ruedt helped Columbia collect two shutout victories against Penn and Dartmouth. Ruedt scored her lone goal of the season in Columbia's 4-1 win over Cornell.
Nata Ramirez, Sophia Cavaliere and Maia Tabion joined Ruedt on the First Team All-Ivy League list. Ania Prussak secured Second Team All-Ivy League Honors. Cavaliere was also named to the Academic All-Ivy League list.
Ramirez ranks among the top of the conference in multiple categories following the end of the regular season. Ramirez leads the Ivy League in total assists with eight this season. She also leads the league in total points with 20 and ranks second in points per game average. Ramirez ranks fourth in the league in total goals with six and she ranks third in shots on goal with 16 this season. Ramirez scored one goal during conference play in Columbia's win over Cornell. She registered six assists during league play to help guide the Lions to five Ivy League victories.
Cavaliere earned a spot on the First Team list as she scored two goals during Ivy play. Cavaliere scored late to help the Lions defeat Dartmouth, then she scored again in the next game at Brown to help force a draw. Cavaliere started all seven Ivy League games and registered 11 shots during conference play.
Tabion tallied two goals and an assist during Ivy League action to secure a spot on the First Team list. Tabion scored twice in Columbia's comeback victory over Yale. She also was credited with an assist in the win at Penn to start conference play. Tabion started all seven Ivy League contests and registered 15 shots through those games.
Prussak earned a spot on the Second Team list as she earned starts in all seven Ivy League games. Prussak played a role in helping the Lions record two shutout victories against Penn and Dartmouth. Prussak also totaled nine shots during conference play.
Columbia kicks off the Ivy League Tournament on Friday in a semifinal game against Brown at 1 p.m. inside Princeton's Roberts Stadium.
