NEW YORK — Columbia softball, women's tennis, men's tennis, baseball and lacrosse are featured in this week's edition of Lions on the Road. Every week, GoColumbiaLions.com will be using "Lions on the Road" to preview that week's upcoming games and events happening off campus.
SOFTBALL
Columbia is back on the road this weekend at the John Cropp Classic hosted by Kentucky. The Lions will play five games between Friday and Sunday with a doubleheader on Friday and Saturday. The Lions will kick it off against Ohio State and South Dakota State on Friday. Columbia will then face Ohio State again Saturday in the first game before meeting the host, Kentucky in the afternoon. The Lions finish off the weekend with a second game against South Dakota State Sunday. Columbia won three of its last four games to finish off the trip to Madeira Beach, Florida last weekend to improve to 4-8 overall this season.
Jaden Hill was named the Ivy League Player of the Week for her performance in Florida. Hill batted .421 over the weekend as she was 8-for-19 at the plate with starts in all six games. She hit two home runs, tallied four RBI, five runs and 14 total bases. Hill finished the weekend with a .737 slugging percentage and .476 on base percentage.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Women's tennis looks to get back in the win column this weekend with a trip to Houston, Texas to face Rice and Tulsa. The Lions will play Rice on Friday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center for a 12 p.m. ET first serve. Columbia will then meet Tulsa on Sunday at 12 p.m. ET for a neutral site match also at the George R. Brown Tennis Center. Columbia is coming off a 4-1 loss to No. 64 Charlotte last weekend.
Fatima Keita won her match at the No. 3 singles for Columbia's only team point of the match. The Lions enter the weekend ranked No. 31 in the nation.

MEN'S TENNIS
Men's tennis closes out its spring break trip with a match at UC Irvine on Friday. First serve is set for 4 p.m. ET. Columbia started its trip with a dominant, 6-1 win over No. 31 UCLA on Monday. The Lions then face No. 40 Pepperdine on Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET for the second match of the trip. The Lions were solid up and down the lineup in the win at UCLA as Columbia claimed the doubles point and proceeded to win five of six singles matches. Columbia earned its second straight win over UCLA after becoming the first Ivy League to ever defeat the Bruins in a 4-0 win last season. Columbia is now ranked No. 7 in the nation according to the latest ITA rankings.

BASEBALL
The Lions (3-8) continue their spring break trip this weekend with a three-game series at No. 11 East Carolina (11-4). It's the third ranked opponent Columbia will play this season. Senior
Jack Cooper is slashing .452/.489/.857 in all 11 games and has five home runs. He leads the Ivy League in slugging percentage and RBIs (18).
Skye Selinsky recently blasted three home runs in as many days against Fresno State and Santa Clara. First-year infielder
Hunter Snyder leads the conference with nine walks. Columbia looks to snap a five-game losing streak this weekend before returning home to begin an eight-game homestand with Hofstra coming to New York City next Tuesday.

LACROSSE
The Columbia lacrosse team continues its road trip with two more games away from home over the next seven days. The Lions have started out hot in non-conference play, owning a 2-1 record including a massive win over Villanova last week. Columbia's only non-conference loss came at the last second to Monmouth, by a score of 13-12. After a game against Marist on Wednesday night, the Lions will look to keep the momentum going into this weekend. First up will be a non-conference, neutral site game against Niagara at the Paradise Sports Complex in Naples, Florida. After the Lions' spring break trip has concluded, they will fly to Connecticut to take on UCONN on Wednesday, March 20.
