The Lions return to their home floor after two road games in Connecticut to start the season
NEW YORK — Columbia men's basketball hosts UMass Lowell on Thursday at 7 p.m. from Schiller Court at Levien Gymnasium.

Opening Tip-Off
Thursday's tilt with the River Hawks marks just the second all-time meeting between the two teams. Columbia lost the first-ever contest in 2022 at home.
Columbia is 85-37 all-time in home openers and has won 10 of its last 17 openers in Levien Gymnasium.
Reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Week Miles Franklin has scored double-figures in each of his first two collegiate games. The Vienna, Virginia native leads the Lions in scoring, field goals, and field goal percentage.
Last Time Out
Columbia took its first loss of the season on Monday at No. 3 UConn, 89-62. Blair Thompson and Miles Franklin each led the Lions with 10 points. Connor Igoe and Zine Eddine Bedri poured in nine. Mason Ritter paced Columbia on the glass with seven boards. UConn shot 56 percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Lions, 34-32.
How Many Miles Can He Go?
First-year guard Miles Franklin shined in his collegiate debut in Friday's season opener. The Vienna, Virginia native came off the bench and in 18 minutes of action tallied 13 points on 5-5 shooting from the floor. Franklin knocked down two three-pointers and recorded three rebounds, two blocks, and a steal.
Franklin followed up on Monday at No. 3 UConn with a 10-point showing (eight in the second half) on 5-8 shooting. His performance included a posterizing dunk over Silas Demary Jr. with 8:42 remaining in the game. He was named Ivy League Rookie of the Week earlier that day.
1,000 Points Watch
Columbia's Avery Brown (859 points) and Kenny Noland (767 points) each are closing in on the 1,000-point mark for their careers. The last Lion to reach 1,000 points was Geronimo Rubio De La Rosa on Feb. 23, 2024. Columbia has 30 all-time 1,000-point scorers.

The River Hawks have lost two of their first three games to start the season. UMass Lowell was picked to finish fourth in the America East Preseason Coaches Poll.
