
Shannon Mozek Named Volunteer Assistant Coach For 2016 Season

NEW YORK – Head Coach Jennifer Teague has announced the addition of Shannon Mozek as a volunteer assistant coach for the Columbia softball coaching staff for the upcoming 2016 season.
Mozek joins the Lions after a four-year playing career at Montclair State University where she was named the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Rookie of the Week, a four-time NJAC Second Team All-Conference selection and a three-time All-America Girls Got Game and NJAC Academic All-Conference recipient. In 2012, Mozek helped lead the Red Hawks to a NCAA Regional championship as a senior, earning them a trip to the Division III NCAA Softball Championships.
During her time in college, Mozek also served as the head coach for both the New Jersey Sparks and Wayne Wildcats Extreme traveling softball teams.
Mozek has also spent time as the strength and conditioning coordinator at Pitcher Perfect for five years (2007-12) and was the director of athletics at the Boys and Girls Club of America in 2012-13. Most recently, Mozek has spent the past two and a half years as the head of the Physical Education and Health department for Passaic County.
Along with a Bachelor of Science in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance from Montclair State in 2012, Mozek has earned certificates in both Digital Project Management and Event and Hotel Management, has finished her Masters degree in Project Management from Villanova University in 2014 and is currently finishing a Masters degree in Health and Wellness from the American College of Education.
