
Softball Heads Across The River For Thursday Doubleheader At Saint Peter's

The Columbia softball team (7-24, 2-6) will continue a 10-game road trip on Thursday, April 14, as it heads across the river to New Jersey to take on Saint Peter's in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
TALKING ABOUT TROUTT
Taylor Troutt has been the leader for the Columbia offense this season, posting up eight home runs, seven doubles and 29 RBI for a .341 average (31-for-91), .681 slugging percentage and .412 on-base percentage as the team's clean-up hitter.
GET IT, GOTT IT, GOOD
Maddie Gott has been a key to the Lions' offense as well this year, posting a .340 batting average with four doubles and four home runs while adding 16 RBI for a .505 slugging percentage and .374 on-base percentage. Through her first six Ivy League games this year, Gott has been the team leader with a .440 batting average and a .640 slugging percentage.
WATCH OUT FOR WU
Tonia Wu has been the go-to in the circle this year for the Lions, posting up a 5-7 record after throwing six complete games for a 4.06 ERA while striking out 52 batters in 79.1 innings of work this season.
SERIES HISTORY
Columbia is 21-5-1 all-time against Saint Peter's in a series that dates back to 2000. Last year, the Lions swept the Peacocks at home, taking a 1-0 victory in game one before taking a 10-2 win in five innings to round out the day.
A QUICK LOOK AT SAINT PETER'S
Saint Peter's is in search of its first win of 2016 after an 0-19 start to the season. The Peacocks have yet to play a conference game after being forced to suspend all three MAAC doubleheaders due to rain and cold weather. Freshman Jackie Riley has been the offensive leader for the Peacocks, hitting .256 with a team-leading 10 hits, including a pair of doubles and two RBI. Tiffani Lambert has been the go-to in the circle this season, starting in seven games while posting a 6.87 ERA after throwing a team-leading 35.2 innings.
