
Lions Set To Square Off With Stony Brook In Midweek Doubleheader

NEW YORK - After an exciting opening to Ivy League play this past weekend, the Columbia softball team (7-19, 2-2 Ivy) will welcome Stony Brook to the Columbia Softball Stadium on Wednesday, April 6, for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.
A LOOK INSIDE THE SERIES
Columbia is 5-10-0 all-time against Stony Brook in a series dating back to 2000. The last Columbia win over the Seawolves came back on April 8, 2014 as the Lions took a 1-0 victory to split the home doubleheader.
This marks the second meeting between the Lions and the Seawolves this year after meeting in the season-opening FAU Invitational on Feb. 27. Stony Brook earned a 7-2 victory over the Lions while Taylor Troutt led the way for the Columbia offense after going 2-for-3.
TALKING ABOUT TROUTT
Taylor Troutt has been the offensive leader for the Lions all year, posting up a team-high .351 average with five doubles, seven home runs and 25 RBI for a .688 slugging percentage and .419 on-base percentage. This year, Troutt has put together six multi-RBI games and has reached base in 22 of her 26 games played.
WATCH OUT FOR WU
Tonia Wu has come alive in her last three appearances in the circle for the Lions, posting up a 0.58 ERA after only allowing two earned runs in 24.0 innings of work for a 3-0 record. In that time, the junior southpaw has posted up 17 strikeouts while only allowing one walk.
A QUICK LOOK AT STONY BROOK
Stony Brook heads into the week with an 11-17-1 record and will play three games in a two-day span including a single game against Fairleigh Dickinson on Tuesday, April 5. The Seawolves are led by the offensive duo of Alexandra Pisciotta (.333 avg., 5 2B, 3B, 2 HR, 14 RBI) and Diane Caruso (.308 avg., 6 2B, 3 HR, 15 RBI) while Jane Sallen (8-10, 3.37 ERA, 66 K, 114.1 IP) has been the go-to in the circle all season long.
