NEW YORK -- The Columbia lacrosse team will make its long-awaited return to Robert K. Kraft Field on Feb. 19 as the Lions kick off their 15-game 2022 campaign. As announced by head coach
Anne Murray, Columbia will welcome nine teams to the Baker Athletic Complex and meet six opponents on the road. Additionally, the Lions will celebrate the 25th anniversary of lacrosse at Columbia throughout the season.
"We are all thrilled for the Lions to be back out on the field competing for the first time since 2020," said Murray. "The schedule ahead of us is set to prepare us each game for the next and ultimately for Ivy League play. This team is eager and hungry for what lies ahead this season!"
Beginning with a 1:00 p.m. contest against Manhattan, the Lions will open their season with a five-game homestand. Long Island University will travel to Inwood for a mid-week matchup on Feb. 23 before fellow Northeast Conference contender, Bryant, takes on the 28-athlete squad on Saturday, Feb. 26.
Columbia faces its first Ivy League foe on Mar. 5 in a 1:00 p.m. contest against Brown. Following a 3:00 p.m. contest against Monmouth on Mar. 8, the Lions will hit the road meeting the University of New Hampshire on Mar. 12. Columbia returns home on Mar. 15 to host Iona at 4:00 p.m. before traveling to Cornell on Mar. 19 for a 3:00 p.m. Ivy League clash. In-conference competition continues on Mar. 25 when the Lions welcome the Tigers of Princeton at 7:00 p.m..
Murray's team will finalize out-of-conference competition on Mar. 30 and Apr. 2, first road-tripping to UConn before hosting San Diego State.
Ivy League play ramps up on April 9th in a 3:30 p.m. clash at Dartmouth. Columbia hosts its final game of the season on April 16th against Harvard, welcoming former Lions' to Baker for Alumni Day before sending off the class of 2022 in a Senior Day celebration. The 2022 season will conclude on the road, on April 23rd  Columbia plays Yale in New Haven, CT before heading to Penn in Philadelphia on May first.
