Farkas posted three goals and an assist over the weekend to earn the honor for the second time in her career.
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia field hockey senior Kelsey Farkas was the recipient of Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week accolades after guiding the Lions to a 2-0 start over the weekend. This marks the second time the midfielder has been tabbed for the honor.
Farkas opened up the 2021 season with two goals and an assist in a 7-1 win over Davidson Friday night. She followed that up with a third quarter goal in another decisive victory over Quinnipiac Sunday afternoon. All three of Farkas' shots on target found the back of the net in the two games.
Senior Alexa Conomikes and sophomore Maya Walker also earned spots on the Ivy League Honor Roll as well after a solid debut weekend in goal. Conomkes allowed two combined goals and made seven stops over both games, including five against the Bobcats Sunday. Walker, who was named a team captain along with Farkas and Allison Smith prior to playing a game for Columbia, contributed a goal and two assists in the pair of wins.
The Lions wrap up their three-game home stand Friday, September 10 against LIU at 12 p.m. Fans attending the game must adhere to all Columbia Athletics' and University COVID-19 protocols. The match can also be seen live on ESPN+.
