Columbia Falls to Harvard in Ivy League Tournament Championship

Harvard scores three goals in the second half to take the win
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Columbia and Harvard played a tight first half, before Harvard's Josefine Hasbo erupted for three goals in the second half to lead the Crimson to a 3-0 win at Brown's Stevenson-Pincince Field on Sunday afternoon. Columbia moves to 10-4-3 overall this season after the loss.
Columbia and Harvard battled through a scoreless 45 minutes to start the game. Harvard outshot the Lions, 13-2 in the first half with two shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper Paige Nurkin was credited with two saves as the Columbia defenders played a critical role in keeper Harvard out of the net.
Harvard's junior midfielder Josefine Hasbo broke up the scoreless contest a few minutes into the second half. Hasbo struck from a distance and put the ball through the middle of the goal to put the Crimson on top in the 52nd minute.
Hasbo struck again in the 61st minute on assists from Hunter Smith and Gabby DelPico to extend Harvard's lead. Hasbo then finished off the hat trick with another goal in the 70th minute to secure a 3-0 lead for the Crimson. Anna Rayhill was credited with the assist.
Harvard outshot the Lions 8-3 in the second half to finish off the win. Columbia finished the day with no shots on goal and five total shots. Nurkin played all 90 minutes in the net and finished with five saves.
The Lions will have their eyes on the NCAA Tournament selection show Monday afternoon to see if they make the field and who they will face in the first round.
